REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS

The Lakeway Area Metropolitan Transportation Planning Organization (LAMTPO), consisting of the Tennessee cities of Morristown, Jefferson City and White Pine, and portions of Hamblen and Jefferson Counties, is seeking Request for Proposals (RFPs) for the SR47466/ SR66/ 341 Corridor Study. The project shall consist of the following:

  1. Commencement meeting and project coordination with members of the LAMTPO board and staff
  2. Stakeholder interviews with all interested parties, including personnel from the cities of Morristown, White Pine, Jefferson and Hamblen Counties, the Morristown Industrial Development Board Executive Committee and the Norfolk Southern Railroad.
  3. Develop a plan to maintain SR66/SR341/Sr474 as a sustainable highway

           Task 1 Identify and Evaluate Transportation Systems and Facilities

           Task 2 Land Use Planning and Environmental Impacts

           Task 3 Multimodal element

           Task 4 Cost Estimates

           Task 5 Recommendations/ Implementation

           Task 6 Public Participation/ Meetings/ reports/ final documentation

Specifications are available on-line via the City of Morristown Website and on file at the Purchasing Department at 100 West First North Street.  The City of Morristown reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids and to waive formalities.

Submittal Due Date: Submittals will be received until 2:00 PM Thursday, November 9, 2017. Any submittal not received by the City of Morristown prior to the time set in this request shall be disqualified.

Submittal Copies: One (1) hard copy of the submittal and one (1) copy in digital format must be submitted in a SEALED ENVELOPE or BOX with “RFP SR474/ Merchants Greene Blvd/ SR66 Corridor Study” written clearly on the outside.

Rose Center offers new classes to Morristown in September


Traditional Belly Dancing with Live Drums – Learn the building blocks of Middle Eastern (Arabic Style) Belly Dance: Layering, Shimmies, Zills, Props, Choreography (Lebanese, Egyptian, Morrocan), and Line Dancing. Our new and energetic instructors, Morwenna & Walid, are dedicated in keeping the culture in the dance, and teach traditional styles of belly dance, folklore, and folk-dance from Lebanon & Egypt.

Classes begin on September 1st. Classes will run on a monthly basis, every Tuesday from 7-8:30PM.Class fee is $55 per month for Rose Center Members, $60 for non-members.

Creative Writing – This new class will cover the fundamentals of writing to include outlining, character development, hooks, and tips on being published! Class will begin Tuesday, September 22, 6PM-7:30PM and will run for four sessions.

Claudia Ware, author of seven published books, will be the instructor. Cost is only $35 for Rose Center members/$40 for nonmembers.

Guitar: Private Lessons – Beginning and Intermediate guitar students are welcome to sign up for classes with our newest instructor. James Gaddy is offering weekly, half-hour lessons for $50 a month. Lessons may be scheduled for weekday evenings.

Ukulele: Beginners – Learn the Ukulele – Jimmy Buffett style!  Learn the basics through the musical stylings of the legend, Jimmy Buffett. Course will be taught by Mitchel Bradley.  Students will need to provide their own instruments.

Classes start September 5th through the 26th, 9-11AM. CD and Workbook will be included. Class fee is $60.

Essential Oils: For Babies – This is a beginners class focused on using essential oils for babies and young children. You will learn the essential oil safety, how to dilute the oils, where to apply oils for: constipation, diarrhea, ear infections, fever and respiratory congestion and coughing.

Classes are to be held on September 8th at 10AM or September 17th at 6PM. Class fee is $15.

Essential Oils: First Aid Kit – Aromatherapy is the therapeutic use of Essential Oils. Essential Oils are defined as the life blood of aromatic plants extracted by steam distillation or expression. These therapeutic grade oils can be relaxing and stimulating, depending on the chemistry of the essential oil used. The oils can be applied topically to the skin, inhaled or in some cases taken internally. Many essential oils have anti-bacterial, antifungal, and antiviral properties. When essential oils are extracted from a plant, the extract can be up to 100 times more potent than the plant itself. This is a beginners class where you will learn what essential oils are, how they are made, why some oils do not work and how to use them on your body for first aid

Classes are to be held on September 29th at 10AM or October 1st at 6PM. Class fee is $15.
