East Tennessee Renaissance Festival Opens with “Sneak Peek” in October

GREATER KNOXVILLE, Tennessee: The East Tennessee Renaissance Festival opens in October as a showcase for arts and entertainment for the whole family.

“A Renaissance Festival is like a British/Scots/Irish festival set back in time. We’re doing a theatrical interpretation of the 15th-17th century ,” said Barrie Paulson, VP-Manager of Darkhorse Entertainment.

“With a large Scots/Irish population in East Tennessee, a Renaissance Festival seems to be a natural fit,” said Liza Zenni, Executive Director of the Arts & Culture Alliance of Greater Knoxville. “There is the opportunity for cultural and heritage growth in Roane County, given its proximity to Sevier County (Tennessee’s highest performing tourism county).”

A “Sneak Peek” of the festival will be held this month on Saturday, October 25 and Sunday, October 26, from 10 am to 5 pm EDT. The event location is near I-40, just off Highway 27, at 550 Fiske Road, Harriman, near the Radio Control Airport.

Admission is $8.00 for ages 13 and up, $5.00 for ages 5-12, free for ages 4 and under, and free parking. But no pets, weapons, or outside alcohol.

Sponsors: Darkhorse Entertainment, LLC has teamed up with the Roane County Chamber of Commerce and the City of Harriman to create an outdoor, special event facility that will be suited for an event such as The ET Renaissance Festival.
