Hollywood acting studio, “And…Action” is presenting a weekend acting seminar in Nashville, designed to help actors become more bookable.
Become More Bookable—An On-Camera Acting Workshop for Kids, Teens and Adults will consist of two sessions, on Saturday June 22nd and Sunday June 23rd, at Fisk University Little Theatre.
The success of the TV series “Nashville” has heightened awareness of the city as a hotbed of film, television and theatrical activity. This course is designed to help both novice and experienced actors improve their chances of being booked for TV, film and commercials.
The seminars will be taught by Mary Wickliffe, a professional actress on stage, television and film for over 30 years. Mary is also an award-winning director and private acting and audition coach who created the On-Camera Audition Workout for Professional Actors in Los Angeles—now in its fifth year. Among her other credits, Mary’s most-recent television performances include “Harry’s Law” and “Desperate Housewives.” Joining Mary will be Maura Soden, an in-demand casting director, writer, actress and producer. She began her career as the assistant to NBC’s “Golden Girls” director, and as a casting director has cast over 300 commercials, infomercials and industrials. Her most recent credits include “1600 Penn” and “Castle.”
The “and;..ACTION!” team has added a special bonus for the Nashville seminars, as well. LA Casting Director Maura Soden will conduct a free one-on-one with those who register. “A lot of people who come to auditions are held back by their headshots and resume, so we want to help. All we ask is that people bring up to four shots for analysis. At the end of the day, we’ll meet with those people and help them out.”
